The world’s largest luxury hotel chain InterContinental Hotel Group are all set to open their latest property – InterContinental Perth City Centre – this October.
The city’s King Street Precinct will be the picturesque setting for the 16 storey property, which will offer a broad range of 240 guest rooms, studios and suites — as well as the sophisticated Club – a collection of new dining & bar options, plus meeting room concept.
Designed by Woods Bagot, with interiors by Chada, the InterContinental Perth City Centre will welcome guests with layers of stylish design details – sandstone walled lobby spaces, dramatic lighting, glass encased stairwells and elegant furnishings. Particular attention has been paid to curating an extensive art collection, with many works commissioned especially for the new hotel from leading West Australian painters, ceramicists, glassblowers and sculptors.
Stepping out of the hotel and onto Hay Street, guests will find His Majesty’s Theatre (home to the WA Opera, WA Ballet and numerous other Perth cultural events); luxury retailers such as Chanel and Kailis Pearls lining King Street; as well as the many cafes and bars of Perth’s business hub at Elizabeth Quay.
“The hotel will certainly be stylish, our Club InterContinental will be a premium point of distinction and we’re in a vibrant city locale, but it’s the intuitive service our team can’t wait to welcome guests with,” says General Manager of InterContinental Perth City Centre, Adam McDonald.
Adam, the former Resident Manager of InterContinental in Sydney as well as overseeing resorts in Bali and Vietnam for IHG (InterContinental Hotels Group), has recruited a hotel team driven by a passion for excellence and determined to bring true hospitality and local cultural wisdom to the new Perth site.
“We can’t wait to create a truly international hotel for Perth that brings global etiquette to travelling forbusiness or pleasure,” added Adam.
