Courtyard by Marriott launches in Indonesia

Marriott International’s largest brand, Courtyard by Marriott, has celebrates the opening of its 900th hotel, the Courtyard Bali Nusa Dua, the brand’s first hotel in Indonesia. The 250-room hotel, situated along the southern coast of Bali, is owned by PT Peninsula Bali Resort and will operate under a long-term management agreement with Marriott International.

“We are very excited about entering into the Indonesian market,” said Janis Milham, Vice President & Global Brand Manager for Courtyard by Marriott. “Global expansion is very important to Courtyard as 25 percent of our pipeline is outside of the United States. We have experienced significant growth in Asia recently where we are serving both business and leisure travellers.”

Over the next few years, Courtyard will enter into several new countries including Cambodia, Romania and Jamaica. The overall portfolio is expected to total more than 1,000 hotels in 40 countries by 2013.

The Courtyard Bali Nusa Dua features 250 guestrooms featuring unique paintings by I Gede Putra Udiyana, a recognised Balinese artist, as well as 32-inch LCD panel TVs and satellite channels.

The MoMo Cafe, Courtyard’s Asian culinary outlet, includes an open kitchen and wood-fired oven, while the MoMo 2 Go kiosk is open 24-hours a day, providing “on the run” snacks like sandwiches, pastries and beverages.
