DoubleTree Resort by Hilton Penang, a family-friendly seaside resort with inter-connecting rooms, a kid’s club, conference space and the country’s first teddy bear-themed museum, has become the first DoubleTree Resort in Malaysia.
Boasting its status as a complete family-friendly destination, DoubleTree Resort by Hilton Penang has all the amenities a family on vacation could ask for – a location that’s less than an hour from the airport, a babysitting service, kid’s club, and complimentary tickets to TeddyVille, Malaysia’s first teddy bear-themed resort.
The upscale beach resort doesn’t lack in destinations for sightseeing either, as it is minutes from George Town, the island’s UNESCO World Heritage-listed capital, which is accessible via the complimentary shuttle service from the hotel. In addition, there’s also shopping, entertainment and nightlife at Gurney Drive or Batu Ferringhi.
“Blessed with a rich history, diverse culture and tropical scenery, Penang is a truly enchanting destination. As the first DoubleTree resort in Malaysia, we are delighted to bring the brand’s warmth and genuine hospitality to the country,” commented Jamie Mead, regional general manager, Hilton Malaysia.
Set on Pantai Miami Beach, the resort features 316 rooms and suites, all equipped with walk-in rain showers, 40-inch LED TVs, and WiFi. Many of its rooms have a private balcony and for bigger families, there are inter-connected rooms — linked via a hallway door — complete with separate bathrooms.
Families also have an array of dining options to choose from, including special children’s buffets at Makan Kitchen, The Food Store, and the Axis Lounge.
Finally, the resort features state-of-the-art conference space, including three flexible meeting rooms for events of between 12 and 120 delegates, an outdoor terrace and a spacious ballroom capable of handling 550 guests.
Linda Giebing, DoubleTree Resort by Hilton Penang’s general manager, added; “We have experienced strong demand since the hotel started operating, with high occupancy and interest from the events sector. I am confident that all guests will be captivated by our comprehensive range of facilities and renowned standards of hospitality.”
