Hilton announced the opening of its first Hilton Garden Inn property in Bordeaux, France, this weekend.
The 166-guestroom Hilton Garden Inn Bordeaux Centre will be managed by management partner Naos Hotel Groupe and will join a list of nine other properties being developed by the hospitality giant in the country.
The opening comes in light of the unfaltering success of France as a tourism destination and Bordeaux’s continued popularity – the iconic wine-growing region is now the fifth most visited in France, following Paris, Aix-Marseille, Lyon and Nice. The province welcomed six million airport passengers in 2017; an increase of two million in two years.
“A sensorial escape”
“We are delighted to bring the Hilton Garden Inn experience to guests staying in the beautiful and exciting city of Bordeaux,” said Vincent Digne, general manager. “Famous for the production of its local wine, Bordeaux is also known for its landmark 11th century cathedral, 18th to 19th century mansions and public gardens lining the curving river quays.
“Bordeaux offers travellers a sensorial escape, and we look forward to enriching travellers’ time in the city with our renowned approach to hospitality, whether it is taking comfort in our spacious and fully equipped guestrooms or dining at our unique restaurant with stunning riverside views.”
Located near landmarks Opéra National, Cité du Vin and Bordeaux Métropole Aréna and half an hour from Bordeaux-Merignac Airport, the hotel features 35 family rooms, 29 deluxe rooms and 17 suites as well as a 24-hour business centre, fitness room, and complimentary WiFi throughout.
The Bordeaux property is one of three Hilton sites to be managed by Naos along with Hampton by Hilton Paris Clichy, Niepce Paris, Curio Collection by Hilton.
“Extending our portfolio beyond the flagship Hilton brand”
Speaking at the signing of the franchise agreement back in March last year, Patrick Fitzgibbon, senior vice president of development at Hilton said: “Growing our portfolio in France is a strategic focus for Hilton.
“With a dedicated French development team based in Paris and Nice we are focused on extending our portfolio beyond the flagship Hilton brand, we’re bringing new brands to Paris and key regional cities.”
