UK-based Egypt holiday provider, Discover Egypt, has announced its Christmas departure for a Nile cruise onboard its newly-refurbished ship, the M/S Tulip.
Providing a range of holidays to Egypt, Jordan and Israel, Discover Egypt offers tours and cruises on the Nile, the beaches of the Red Sea and the bustling cities of Luxor and Cairo. Its latest offer is a Christmas cruise on the Nile, with an option for adding three-nights in Cairo for the New Year’s Eve celebrations.
The M/S Tulip has been totally refurbished and features 40 contemporary themed cabins each with a panoramic window and balcony, plus eight upper deck junior suites that offer an outside terrace and two single cabins. The ship has a sun deck, swimming pool, sauna and small fitness suite, plus a deck bar, lounge bar and main restaurant.
The package includes return flights from London Heathrow to Luxor, full board cruise, transfers in resort, plus 10 guided excursions.
The 7-night Christmas Nile package dates from 24 December until 31 December 2018, with direct scheduled flights from Heathrow to Luxor, and costs GBP 1,297 (USD 1,669) per person plus GBP 120 extra for an additional drinks package that includes locally produced mineral water, soft drinks, juices, tea, coffee, red and white wine, beer and spirits.
The tour starts from Luxor and includes many of Egypt’s top ancient sights including the Valley of the Kings and Valley of the Queens; Temples of Karnak and Luxor; the High Dam at Aswan and the Unfinished Obelisk. There is also an optional excursion to Abu Simbel costing GBP 85 by coach.
In addition, guests have the option to add on an extra three nights in Cairo, with the total for the 10-nights costing either GBP 1,746 per person staying at the Steigenberger El Tahrir or GBP 1,897 per person staying at the Marriott Mena House. Flights include the direct London to Luxor and return from Cairo to London.
All excursions will be accompanied by an Egyptologist, plus guests can take a trip on board a Felucca, a traditional Egyptian sailing boat and add on an evening to see the Sound and Light Show at the Karnak Temple in Luxor (approximately GBP 28 per person).
