Spear Travels have pledged to raise GBP 10,000 (USD 12,892.50) throughout 2020 as part of its ‘Adopt a Caravan’ initiative, covering the costs of running one of caravans of Family Holiday Association (FHA) for a year.

FHA owns a number of caravans, located at holiday parks around the British coast. They play a crucial role in giving struggling families a chance to spend precious time together, especially during the peak school-holiday period. It costs approximately GBP 10,000 (USD 12892.50) annually to keep each caravan in tip-top condition, a fee that covers everything from ground rent, fuel bills, cleaning, furnishing and repairs.

Spear Travels is an independent travel agency and will be raising funds for the charity within their twelve branches across the UK. Trevor Davis, group operations director at Spear Travels said: “We are delighted to be working with the FHA as our chosen charity for 2020. The FHA ‘Adopt a Caravan’ initiative touched everyone’s heart when launched at our annual conference in York in December and the Spear Travels Group team will work hard this year raising funds so that those less fortunate can enjoy fantastic family holidays that so many of us take for granted.”

Angie Watson, head of fundraising at FHA said: “We’re so excited to be working with Spear Travels and supporting the agents across the branches. The passion from the team so far has been fantastic and their desire to make a difference to families has been so heart-warming.”
