Qatar Airways has introduced an exciting passenger promotion for 2010 - travellers spending US$200 or more on duty free items bought onboard, will receive a US$40 gift voucher. This can be redeemed on subsequent or connecting flights, giving passengers more value for money when they buy onboard the airline.
Time-conscious travellers will be excited by the launch of Emporio Armani, Aigner, Zeades, Puma and Police watches, which are available for the first time on board the airline. Watches are among the fastest growing categories for Qatar Airways’ sales onboard.
Qatar Airways Chief Executive Officer Akbar Al Baker said: “With our latest inflight duty-free magazine, we are delighted to have introduced yet more exclusive items onboard giving our passengers an even greater choice of purchases on our flights.
“We have also introduced this exciting US$40 gift voucher offer to provide added value and to further tempt our passengers to make purchases on the array of products available.”
Premium cigars also make their debut onboard Qatar Airways with a selection of fine cheroots available. The cigar offering complements the variety of leading cigarette brands already for sale onboard.
Miniature Qatar Airways aircraft models, including the company’s flagship Boeing 777 aircraft and Airbus A330 aircraft can also be bought through the airline’s in-flight Duty Free. These sought-after collector’s items continue to be popular onboard sellers.
A wide selection of children’s items and souvenir products, including a Qatar Airways Airport set, Qatar Airways plane jigsaw puzzle, and stylised playing cards, key chains and more, are on offer.
To further improve product knowledge, Qatar Airways’ cabin crew have received training from some of the airline’s brand partners - Traveler, Dior, Al Maserve, Swiss Time and La Prairie - with trainers flying to Doha to conduct the specialised training.
Members of Qatar Airways’ Privilege Club frequent flyer programme can continue to earn QMiles on all purchases - 2 QMiles for every US$1 spent onboard.
