FUJIO SHIBATA has been appointed as TMS Asia Pacific’s new General Manager for Australia & New Zealand. Shibata joins the travel recruitment giant from Melbourne-based Manhattan Group, where he served as Regional Director.
ANDRE BRULHART has been announced as the new General Manager of the Centara Grand Mirage Beach Resort Pattaya. A Swiss national, Brulhart has more than 20 years’ hotel experience mainly in Asia, most recently with the Centara Karon Resort Phuket.
SONIA CHENG has been appointed Chairman of New World Hospitality. Ms Cheng joined New World Group in 2008 as Principal Director – Hotel Division, prior to which she worked with a major international investment bank and a global private equity firm.
IVAN CHU has been named as Cathay Pacific Airways’ new Director and Chief Operating Officer, effective 31 March 2011. He will succeed John Slosar in the role. Chu has been with Cathay since 1984, and is currently Director of Service Delivery.
ROY PAUL has been appointed Chief Development Officer of Orient-Express Hotels. Paul has a hospitality career spanning 30 years, including 20 years with Four Seasons. He joins Orient-Express from Cedar Capital Partners, an independent hotel investment firm.
DAN VOELLM has been promoted to Partner & Managing Director of HVS Hong Kong’s Consulting and Valuation service. Voellm began his career with the hospitality consultancy firm in New York in 2005, before moving to Hong Kong.
CHRISTIAN ALTMANN has been named as Lufthansa’s new Country Manager for Singapore. Altmann has served with Lufthansa for more than 15 years, most recently setting up Lufthansa Services Thailand, the airline’s regional service centre in Bangkok.
SIEGFRIED STEINDL has been announced as the new General Manager of the Swiss-Belhotel Golden Sand Resort & Spa, Hoi An. Steindl brings more than 20 years’ experience to the role, in countries including Malaysia, Singapore, Japan and Canada.
TAREQ BAGAEEN has been named as the new Director of Sales & Marketing for the Banyan Tree Bangkok. Bagaeen, who is of Italian and Jordanian decent, has worked in Europe and Middle East and Asia primarily with Ritz-Carlton and Hyatt.
JENNIFER CHIN has been appointed Senior Business Development Director for the Mandarin Orchard Singapore. Ms Chin has more than 20 years’ hospitality experience, most recently as Director of Sales and Marketing at Grand Copthorne Waterfront Hotel.
ALOYSIUS MICHAEL has been appointed Resident Manager of the Dusit Thani Pattaya. A Singaporean national, Michael has held roles at the Ritz-Carlton Millenia Singapore and was involved in the pre-opening of the Dusit Residence Dubai Marina.
SALLY-ANN KLAP has been announced as the new Director of Sales & Marketing for The Saujana Hotel, Kuala Lumpur. A New Zealand national, she has previously worked in several Asia Pacific countries, most recently as Director of Sales for Marina Bay Sands.
SIRIYUPA PRAKOBTHONG has been named as the new Director of Sales at The Pavilions Phuket – a member of Relais & Chateaux. Khun Nod, as she is better known, has been part of The Pavilions’ sales team based in Bangkok for three years.
JEAN-PAUL LOURDES has been appointed Executive Sous Chef for the Sofitel Bangkok Silom. Chef Jean-Paul has worked as Sous Chef in several Michelin-starred restaurants in the UK and France, and has experience in molecular biology.
