Qatar Airways has promoted its credentials for corporate travel at London’s Business Travel Market (BTM), which ran from 16 to 17 June.
For the second year running the airline was platinum sponsor of the two-day business travel event, which attracts hosted corporate buyers from across Europe.
Having recently been presented with awards from Skytrax for World’s Best Business Class and Best Airline in the Middle East, the carrier used the show as a platform promote its VIP Hosted Buyer Lounge where delegates were able to watch the World Cup matches on plasma screens.
Qatar Airways also used the Business Travel Market, held at the ExCel conference centre as an opportunity to welcome new corporate account managers Narinder Singh, Patricia Goviel and Elayne Conner to the UK team.
The carrier also showcased its new business-class seats, which offer a 78-inch pitch and convert into 180-degree horizontal flat bed. All seats provide personal touch screen seat back television screens with more than 900 interactive audio and video entertainment options.
Qatar Airways’ UK country manager Rachel Finn, who also sits on the advisory board for Business Travel Market, commented: “Once again Business Travel Market has been a terrific platform to showcase our Five Star service to corporate travel buyers and members of the industry and create new business opportunities. Business travellers are a key market for us, and we have invested in expanding and developing our corporate account team this year to accommodate this so we are delighted to be here again and look forward to returning next year.”
Qatar Airways continues to expand and develop its network, and has so far launched five new routes from its Doha hub this year - Bengaluru (Bangalore), Copenhagen, Ankara, Tokyo and Barcelona - with further services to South America’s two largest cities, Sao Paulo and Buenos Aires, set to begin on 24 June.
