BARBARA MESSING has been announced as TripAdvisor’s new Chief Marketing Officer. Ms Messing spent nine years at Hotwire, also part of Expedia Inc, and most recently served as Vice President and General Manager of Travel Ticker.
MICHEL HORN has been promoted to the role of Vice President of Operations of Centara Hotels & Resorts. Horn, who is General Manager of the Centara Grand & Bangkok Convention Centre, will be responsible for operations of all Centara properties.
WILLIAM CALDERWOOD has been named as the interim Chief Executive Officer of the Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA). Calderwood, who is also a member of PATA’s Executive Board, is currently Managing Director of The Ayre Group Consulting.
LO YOUNG has been appointed to the newly-created role of Regional Vice President, China of Langham Hospitality Group. With more than 28 years’ experience, Young moves from the role of Regional VP for South China where he oversaw more than 30 hotels.
STAN VAN ROIJ has been named as the new Managing Director of Easy Revenue Management Solutions Ltd (EasyRMS). A Dutch national, van Roij most recently held the role of Corporate Director of Revenue Management for NH Hoteles.
ARJA SUOMINEN has been announced as the new Senior Vice President of Corporate Communications & Corporate Responsibility for Finnair. Ms Suominen joins the national carrier from Nokia, where she was Vice President of Global Media Relations.
MARK HEHIR has been appointed General Manager of the One&Only Reethi Rah luxury resort in the Maldives. Hehir joins Kerzner International from Anantara where he held GM roles in Bali and Thailand, most recently at the Anantara Phuket Villas.
KARIN SHEPPARD has been named as InterContinental Hotels Group’s new Vice President – Commercial for Middle East & Africa. She first joined IHG in 2001, and recently worked in the UK as Vice President – Brand Development & delivery for EMEA.
RICHARD HOE has been announced as the new Warwick International Hotels’ new Global Accounts Sales Manager. Based in Australia, Hoe brings more than a decade of sales experience the role, including stints in Hong Kong, Malaysia and Australia.
ARBIND K. SHRESTHA has become General Manager of the Shangri-La Hotel and Traders Hotel, Qaryat Al Beri, Abu Dhabi. A Nepalese-American national, Shrestha joins from Shangri-La’s Barr Al Jissah Resort & Spa in Muscat where he also served as GM.
