Abu Dhabi Airport to add new boarding pass system

Abu Dhabi Airports is to adopt a new traveller documents authentication system to validate boarding pass using technology supplied by air transport IT firm SITA.
The Airport iValidate system is expected to enhance security, accelerate passenger processing and reduce waiting times for passengers, according to a statement by the airport.
Times are cut by automatically verifying all types of boarding passes including mobile boarding passes and home printed passes.
It be the first deployment of the product in the Middle East and will begin its service in June 2015.
Ahmad Al Haddabi, chief operations officer at Abu Dhabi Airports, said the move was “a further demonstration of Abu Dhabi Airports’ determination to use the very best the market has to offer”.
“Effectively managing the balance between continuous passenger flow and stringent security measures is a fundamental part of our operations, and the task is even more important in view of our continued growth,” he added.
