ADAC hosts ORBIS Flying Hospital

Abu Dhabi Airports Company (ADAC) will host the ORBIS Flying Eye Hospital during Routes 2012, which is scheduled to take place from September 29th – October 2nd at Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC).

The converted DC-10 aircraft and the ophthalmic surgical and training hospital with wings will be on display and available for invited tours at Al Bateen Executive Airport.

Commenting on the initiative, Eng Ahmed Al Haddabi, chief operating officer at ADAC, said: “As part of its CSR programme, ADAC is committed to playing an active role in supporting such a global initiative to combat preventable blindness.”

ORBIS is a non-profit, global development organization whose mission is to decrease the rate of avoidable blindness in developing countries. ORBIS prevents and treats blindness by providing tools, training, and technology necessary for local partners to develop their own capabilities in providing quality eye care services that are affordable, accessible and sustainable.
