ADAE 2014 witnesses 35% more business

The recently concluded Abu Dhabi Air Expo 2014 played host to 16,900 visitors and 175 exhibitors from local, regional and international companies. The business generated at the show was recently evaluated to reach in excess of AED 5 billion. This is 35% higher than sales generated at last year’s exhibition. The show also witnessed a saw a 30 % increase in attendance.
Various sales in general aviation were made included 10 sales by Aeroprakt, sale of three new SR22 Cirrus Aircraft with GCC specification, more than 10 sales by AutoGyro, and sale of three aircraft (P2010 and P2008) by Tecnam.
HE Ali Majed Al Mansoori, chairman of Abu Dhabi Airports, said: “The show has rapidly established itself as the main industry event within the region. We are delighted that so many exhibitors were able to showcase their products and services.”
In addition to sales of aircraft, the other commercial developments and announcements included the Gulf Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) entered into an open skies agreement with Hungary, Falcon Aviation Services (FAS) officially opened its newly constructed Embraer Service Centre, FAS also signed a letter of intent with Bombardier for the delivery of up to two C Series aircraft and Royal Jet announced that planning and development of its integrated base at Al Bateen Executive Airport is well underway with first phase completion targeted for Q4 2015 among others.
