Aer Lingus switches Belfast airports

Aer Lingus has announced it will switch its flights to George Best Belfast City Airport later this year.
The airline previously operated for five years from Belfast International, which took to Twitter to voice its confusion over the decision.
“It runs contrary to its stated position in the recent past,” its tweets read. “[Belfast International] have (sic) been offered no explanation as to why Aer Lingus should move from this ‘ideal location’”. T
he airport continued to say that Aer Lingus had taken a u-turn after the airline said Belfast International was “better positioned to facilitate air passengers” when it first started in 2007. John Doran, managing director at Belfast International said he has asked the carrier for an explanation but not yet “heard any explanation that makes sense”.
