Afghanistan-based Safi Airways is expanding with the addition of two new aircraft and one more international destination – Islamabad.
The carrier, which operates from Kabul International Airport, has taken delivery of two new Airbus A319 aircraft, which come equipped with 120 seats – 12 in business class and 108 in economy. And follow these deliveries, Safi plans to launch flights to Pakistan’s capital city, Islamabad. Direct services are expected to launch in October 2013.
“We are in the process of modernising our fleet. The two Airbus A319 aircraft have been commissioned in order to give us the flexibility and range necessary in expanding our reach to other destinations,” said Safi’s CEO, Pierfranco Prato.
Islamabad will become Safi’s fifth international destination, following New Delhi, Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Bahrain, but the airline said it plans to add more routes in future.
