The South African Travel industry recently got a glimpse of Abu Dhabi.
The Abu Dhabi Tourism & Culture Authority (TCA Abu Dhabi) highlighted its key tourism attractions at the World Travel Market 2015 in Cape Town.
The tourism authority was present along with key partners – Etihad Airways and Oryx Tourism – promoting UAE to the wider African market.
South Africa represents the latest target tourism market for Abu Dhabi, which recently appointed Johannesburg-based Development Promotions to position it as a preferred destination in that market.
“With our sights also firmly set on the travel trade, and meetings and incentive markets, the new office will offer a full service to our trade partners. This will be done through training sessions and joint marketing partnerships with key travel agents, tour operators, PCOs and incentive houses among others,” said Mubarak Al Nuaimi, TCA Abu Dhabi’s director promotions & overseas offices.
The set up of a TCA Abu Dhabi office in South Africa follows launch of daily South African Airways morning flights, adding additional air capacity to a daily evening frequency already operated by Etihad Airways.
