Colorado has launched new Facebook and Twitter pages for travel agents in the UK to further engage with the tourism board.
Through a campaign known as ‘Share the Love’, the tourism authority is encouraging travel agents to post what they like about the state or why they want to visit to win a rucksack. While the winner will be announced next week, the pages will then be used to share information and news about the destination to agents and let them ask questions.
As part of its strategy Visit Denver is keen to show that the city is more than about skiing, focusing on the Pro Challenge cycling event and a beer festival to appeal to Brits.
“There are so many activities to do here in the summer and it is a new place for the trade to promote. As more agents are customising breaks they need to understand Denver is a gateway into four national parks, so we want them to know what is available,” Jayne Buck, vice president of tourism at Visit Denver told Travel Daily.
In addition, ranch holidays are increasing in popularity in the state with the UK its top international market for visitors alongside Germany.
