Air India is expanding its operations at Indore, with the launch of additional flights from Delhi and plans for a new direct flight to Dubai.

On 22 April 2016, the national carrier doubled its frequency on the Delhi-Indore route with the launch of a second daily flight. Numbered AI1635, the flight departs Delhi at 1155 and arrives in Indore at 1330. The return flight, AI1636, then leaves the Madhya Pradesh city at 1400 and gets back to Delhi at 1525.

The new flight will be operated using an Airbus A321 aircraft and is aimed at catering to the rising demand for flights driven by the Simhastha Kumbh Mela, which began on Friday.

Air India said it is also planning to start a new flight from Indore to Dubai in the near future, which would mark its first international service from the city.
