Air India changes terminals at Mumbai

Air India will relocate its domestic operations at Mumbai Airport from Thursday.
The Economic Times reported the airline as saying that its domestic operations will now depart from Terminal 2, rather than from Terminal 1A, at Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport. The move forms part of the airport’s phased transition to the new facility.
At present, Vistara is the only airline operating from T2. But Air India’s inaugural flight from the new terminal will take off on 1 October, when flight AI627 departs for Nagpur. The first arriving flight at T2 will be AI695 from Hyderabad.
Mumbai’s new T2, which is designed to handle up to 40 million passenger a year, was inaugurated by former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh in January 2014.
