Air India flies longest all-female flight

Air India has marked International Women’s Day by flying the world’s longest flight crewed entirely by women.
On Sunday, the national carrier’s Delhi-San Francisco flight was operated with a full female staff, including cockpit crew and cabin crew, check-in staff, the onboard doctor, ground handling staff and engineers.
International Women’s Day officially takes place on Tuesday 8 March – the day the inbound flight returns from San Francisco to Delhi. And also on this day, Air India plans to operate 20 all-female domestic flights.
“Air India will be flying 20 all women domestic flights on March 8 to commemorate International Women’s Day. The details regarding their routes and timings are expected to be disclosed by Monday evening,” Saurabh Gupta, airline’s public relations officer told IANS.
Air India currently employs more than 3,700 women, including pilots.
