Air India will resume Dreamliner flights to London next week

Air India is pushing to launch flights from Birmingham to Delhi once its new Boeing 787 Dreamliners are delivered.

The airline is said to have been requesting the link between the two cities for some time due to the large Indian population in Birmingham and could now commence as early as August.

Although the route is yet to be confirmed, it is one of several international services being eyed by Air India which also include flights from Delhi to Melbourne, Milan and Moscow.

Air India is expected to resume Dreamliner operations on the London-Delhi route on 22 May, having previously grounded the aircraft with other airlines due to a battery fault.

It recommenced domestic flights using the troubled aircraft model this week and has six in operation with another eight on order. These aircraft are to be received by the airline by the end of this year.
