Air India may scrap its meal service on certain short-haul domestic routes.
The national carrier has already stopped serving hot meals on domestic flights of less than 90 minutes, could decide not to serve any food on flights which are less than one hour, the sources told The Economic Times. The final decision is yet to be taken.
Currently, passengers pay for having any meal on low-cost carriers like IndiGo, SpiceJet and GoAir, while full-service carriers Air India and Jet Airways provide complimentary meals on all flights.
