Air India pilot locked from cockpit after toilet break

An Air India aircraft was diverted on Monday after the pilot went on a toilet break and was locked out of the cockpit.
According to a BBC report, the pilot could not get back to the cockpit because of a jammed door.
As a result, the plane was diverted from Bangalore to Bhopal airport having previously departed from Delhi earlier in the day.
The door was fixed and the journey continued less than three hours later.
The airline is already investigating an incident when the auto-pilot system was switched off during a flight from Bangkok to Delhi last month.
Media reports said the pilots had left cabin crew to operate the Airbus 321 for a 40-minute break during which the system was accidentally switched off. Air India denied the claim but said cabin crew “overstayed” in the cockpit and auto-pilot was turned off “due to distraction”.
