Air India has scrapped the productivity linked incentives (PLI) to the employees with effect from 1 July 2012. Air India employees are now paid  salaries and allowances as per the guidelines of Department of Public Enterprises (DPE). The Ministry of Civil Aviation (MoCA) will be approaching the Union Cabinet for payment of flying allowances and other allowances to be paid to the pilots, licensed engineers and cabin crew as per the industry standard.
