Just a day after launching its first Dreamliner flight to North America, Air New Zealand has confirmed plans to fly the new long-haul jet to South America.
On Tuesday, Air New Zealand upgraded its Auckland-Honolulu route to the Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner. And commencing on 30 October 2016, the airline will deploy the 302-seat aircraft on the Auckland-Buenos Aires route.
Flights will initially operate three times a week (Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays), before being increased the four flights per week for the peak season between 12 December 2016 and 27 February 2017, with the addition of an extra Monday departure.
Air New Zealand first launched services between Auckland and Buenos Aires in December 2015.
“Forward bookings originating from both New Zealand and Australia, and Argentina, are looking very positive and the additional peak season service will give customers more flexibility,” said the airline’s chief sales & commercial officer, Cam Wallace. “The 12-hour average flight time for the Auckland–Buenos Aires service is well suited to the Dreamliner and customers will enjoy the benefits of the higher humidity and lower cabin altitude to help them arrive feeling more refreshed.”
Air New Zealand’s Dreamliner offers 302 seats, including flat beds in business class, its new premium economy cabin and the Economy Skycouch concept, which converts a row of three economy class seats into a flat bed.
