AirAsia boosts Bangkok-Angkor flights

AirAsia has announced plans to ramp up its flights between Bangkok and Siem Reap – the gateway to Angkor Wat.
Commencing on 1 December 2014, the low-cost carrier will offer three daily flights on the route, up from two per day at present. The third service will take off from Bangkok’s Don Mueang Airport at 1450, complementing the existing 1000 and 1950 departures. The return service leaves Siem Reap at 1630.
“Overall, the airline has carried passengers to and from its Siem Reap routes with an average of 80% passenger load since it began operations in Cambodia in 2013,” said Santisuk Klongchaiya, Thai AirAsia’s commercial director.
“We hope that the extra flight services will help meet increasing demand, provide guests with a greater choice of travel times and enable us to offer improved flight connections across our network and that of the AirAsia group.”
Like all flights in the Thai AirAsia network, the three Siem Reap services will be operated using 180-seat, all-economy Airbus A320 aircraft.
