Thai AirAsia reveals its Changsha promotional fares

AirAsia is capitalising on the Chinese visitor boom in Chiang Mai with the launch of a new direct service to the northern Thai city from Changsha.

The capital of central China’s Hunan province, Changsha has a population of more than five million people. And they will now be offered daily flights to Chiang Mai with Thai AirAsia’s new direct service.

Changsha becomes the fourth city in Greater China that Thai AirAsia serves direct from Chiang Mai, following Macau, Hong Kong and Hangzhou. The low-cost carrier will become the second airline flying the Chiang Mai-Changsha route, following China Eastern Airlines.

Effective 27 May 2016, the new service will depart Chiang Mai daily at 1815, arriving in Changsha at 2220. The return flight will leave the Chinese city at 2320 and arrive back in northern Thailand at 0115.

The number of direct flights between Chiang Mai and mainland China has surged in recent years; nine airlines now connect the historic northern Thai city with 12 cities in mainland China, and there are also direct flights from Hong Kong, Macau and Taipei.
