AirAsia doubles KL-Yangon flights
AirAsia is unveiled plans to double its flight frequency between Kuala Lumpur and Yangon.
The airline currently offers daily services between Malaysia and Myanmar’s largest cities, but from 8 October 2012 this will rise to twice a day. All flights are operated using an all-economy Airbus A320 aircraft.
The move marks the latest in a series of inroads into the Myanmar market for AirAsia. The low-cost carrier’s Thai subsidiary recently unveiled plans to launch direct flights between Bangkok and Mandalay, as well as boosting its Bangkok-Yangon services.
The new KL-Yangon schedule will see flights depart the Malaysian capital at 0655 and 1710 each day, with the return services leaving Yangon at 0830 and 1850.
