AirAsia Japan goes international
AirAsia Japan will start its first international services this month, with the launch of flights to Seoul.
The new low-cost carrier, which is a joint venture between AirAsia and ANA, will commence daily flights between Tokyo Narita airport and Seoul’s Incheon airport from 28 October 2012.
“This is a great day for all of us, and an even greater day for the consumers and air travellers in Korea,” said AirAsia’s Group CEO Tony Fernandes, who was in Seoul for the announcement.
“This international route… is a dream come true for us, and I am looking forward to see the Narita–Incheon flights begin operations.”
Flights will depart Narita daily at 1415, arriving in Incheon at 1700. The return services will leave the Korean capital at 1745, getting back into Tokyo at 2000.
Like AirAsia Japan’s domestic flights to Fukuoka, Sapporo and Okinawa, the Seoul flights will be operated using an all-economy, 180-seat Airbus A320 aircraft.
