AirAsia signs up Korean football star

AirAsia has signed up South Korean football star Park Ji Sung as its new global ambassador.
Announced at press conference in Seoul today (10 December 2014), the partnership will see AirAsia launch a new Airbus A330-300 aircraft featuring former Manchester United midfielder.
Park will also feature in AirAsia’s global marketing campaigns and at events across the region.
“Ji and AirAsia’s stories share a common thread – he dared to dream the impossible and through hard work, he’s achieved monumental success. He truly embodies the spirit of the brand and is the perfect ambassador to help propel AirAsia forward in the region. We hope that this partnership will continue to serve as an inspiration for youth that nothing is impossible,” said AirAisa’s group CEO, Tony Fernandes.
Park added; “It’s a great honour to be appointed AirAsia’s global ambassador, to champion a great product and I hope together, we can help spread hope and dreams throughout the region.”
The Airbus A330 depicting Park Ji Sung will be operated by AirAsia X on numerous international routes, including services to Korea.
A former player for PSV Eindhoven and Manchester United, Park most recently plied his trade with Queen’s Park Rangers FC, which is owned by Tony Fernandes. He has played for South Korea in three World Cups, captaining his country in 2010.
