AirAsia has launched flights to the Indonesian island of Lombok.

The new service, which starts today (15 August 2012), will operate three times a week (Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays) direct from Kuala Lumpur. Services leave the Malaysian capital at 0845, while the return service departs Lombok at 1215.

“Lombok is a hidden gem,” said AirAsia’s Commercial Director, Jasmine Lee. “For those who seek escapism, Lombok is a perfect spot for snorkeling and diving, with a dreamlike and picture perfect underwater world. The volcanic island of Lombok is located in West Nusa Tenggara province, close to Bali.
