AirAsia has launched a new travel pass intended to offer passengers cheaper flights across the ASEAN region.

The new AirAsia ASEAN Pass is available for purchase from airasia.com, priced at MYR499 (US$137) for 10 credits. There is also an AirAsia ASEAN Pass+ offering 20 credits for MYR888.

Flights with a duration of up to two hours are valued at one credit, while flights of two hours or more are worth three credits. Airport tax and other fees will be payable separately.

“As a truly ASEAN airline, we are extremely proud to introduce the AirAsia ASEAN Pass, which is a product specifically designed to further liberalise and encourage travel among the ASEAN community,” said AirAsia’s group CEO, Tony Fernandes. “The pass allows us to bridge communities and attract more foreign tourists to the region – it’s the perfect instrument to promote ASEAN integration.”

Holders of the AirAsia ASEAN Pass will be able to book fixed-rate flights on more than 148 routes across all 10 ASEAN countries. It is applicable for AirAsia Malaysia, Thai AirAsia, AirAsia Indonesia and Philippines AirAsia flights, but not for long-haul AirAsia X services.
