Airbus will bring its brand new A350 aircraft to the Singapore Airshow next month.

The wide-body aircraft’s arrival in Singapore will mark the first time it has gone on full display at an international event. Painted in the Airbus colours, the A350 will be on static display from 11–12 February 2014, and will also take part in the flying displays on both days.

“I am very pleased to announce that we will bring the A350 XWB to Singapore,” said Fabrice Brégier, Airbus’ president & CEO. “The Asia Pacific region is the fastest growing market for the air transport industry and will drive future demand for wide-body aircraft in all seat categories.

“The A350 XWB will set new standards in the mid-size category and will consolidate our position as the provider of the world’s most modern, comprehensive and efficient wide-body product line,” he added.

The A350 is due to enter service with Qatar Airways later this year. To date, Airbus has taken orders for more than 800 A350s, with Southeast Asian customers including Singapore Airlines, AirAsia X, Thai Airways and Vietnam Airlines.

This year’s Singapore Airshow will take place at the Changi Exhibition Centre from 11-16 February 2014.
