Marriott opens Aloft Dubai South for hyper-connected travellers

Marriott International has announced the opening of the Aloft brand’s fourth property to open in Dubai this year. The Aloft Dubai South, marks the first hotel to open in the Dubai South District within the aviation and logistics hub – near the Al Maktoum International Airport and the Expo 2020 site. It’s expected to deliver a “tech-forward approach and a modern style” developed by Radar Holdings.

Alex Kyriakidis, president and managing director, Middle East and Africa, Marriott International, commented: “With the ongoing expansion of the Al Maktoum International Airport and the rapidly developing site of Expo 2020, which will see 25 million visitors, Dubai South is the ideal location for a brand like the Aloft which is designed for the hyper-connected, ‘always on’ global traveller.”
Aloft Dubai South houses 145 loft-inspired guestrooms, including six Savvy corner-rooms featuring modern décor with custom guestroom artwork by Blue Bicycle Design. Providing the latest technology, the hotel promises guests an energising and well-connected stay.
Room features include plush beds, walk-in showers, custom amenities by Bliss Spa, free Wi-Fi, 49-inch LCD TVs, custom USB and universal sockets throughout the room and Google Chromecast that allows guests to stream their own content.

F&B outlets at the hotel include Nook, an all-day casual dining outlet serving international cuisine; the brand’s signature W XYZ Bar and Re:mix Lounge; Re:fuel by Aloft, the brand’s signature 24/7 grab and go venue; plus a global Live at Aloft Hotels programme that showcases live acoustic performances by up-and-coming artists.

Marriott International currently operates over 150 hotels under the brand in more than 20 countries and territories around the world. The hospitality group plans to expand in the UAE with more than 80 hotels by 2023.
