Onyx Hospitality Group has revamped and renamed its Amari resort in Phuket.

The Amari Coral Beach Phuket opened 29 years ago, but following an 18-month renovation the family resort has relauched with new rooms, public areas, spa and restaurants, as well as a new name: Amari Phuket.

“We are very proud that our resort attracts a large number of repeat visitors year after year. We recognised that it was important to reinvest into the physical product we offer, and provide an enhanced overall experience for our guests. The finished look is fantastic, very contemporary and above all comfortable and functional. Amari is about offering guests warm and friendly service and quality accommodation, I hope we exceed at doing both,” said the resort’s GM, Warakorn Jarusirikul.

The recent upgrades include a new contemporary design in all superior and deluxe rooms and suites, plus a revamped lobby. The Italian restaurant La Gritta and La Gritta Terrace have been restyled, as has the all-day dining restaurant, Rim Talay. The Breeze Spa has been redesigned and a new guest lounge, Voyager, has also been introduced offering light refreshments, bathroom facilities, a library and games.

In 2015, in conjunction with the property’s 30th birthday, a further 160 units – 148 residences and 12 pool villas – will be added, bringing the resort’s total inventory to 357 rooms.
