River cruise operator AmaWaterways will launch its first programmes in Myanmar next year.
The company has unveiled two new itineraries on the Irrawaddy River as part of its 2014-2016 brochure. The 10-night ‘Golden Treasures of Myanmar’ and 14-night ‘Hidden Wonders of Myanmar’ cruises will take in popular destinations including Yangon, Bagan and Mandalay.
AmaWaterways is launching its Myanmar operations using the newly-built, all-suite AmaPura riverboat – a 56-passenger vessel which includes a restaurant, lounge, spa, pool and sundeck.
“We have so many exciting developments in the works, especially our new programme and new ship in Myanmar,” said Kristin Karst, AmaWaterways executive vice president and co-owner. “Our new cruises there will immerse our guests in a place that has long been shut off from the rest of the world, and that’s an opportunity no world traveller will want to pass up.”
The Myanmar itineraries will be accompanied by an optional four-day post-cruise excursion to Inle Lake and Yangon, or a two-night pre –or post-cruise extension in Bangkok.
