Anantara has expanded its portfolio in China with the launch of a new resort in Sichuan province.
The Anantara Emei Resort & Spa is located in the foothills of the Emei Mountain, and becomes the first luxury international hotel in the area. The highest of China’s four sacred Buddhist mountains, Emei Mountain is a UNESCO World Heritage site.
The new resort features 90 rooms, 40 pavilions and 20 villas, all with garden or lake views. The villas come equipped with jacuzzi baths or swimming pools.
F&B options at the resort include an all-day dining restaurant, a specialist restaurant offering local Sichuan cuisine, plus a lobby lounge with outdoor terrace and a wine and cigar bar. The resort will also feature Anantara’s ‘Spice Spoons’ cooking classes.
Other facilities include an outdoor pool and jacuzzi, a fitness centre, table tennis and outdoor tennis courts, and yoga and tai chi classes, plus a children’s pool and kids’ club. The Anantara Spa also offers a range of local treatments.
Finally for the MICE market, Anantara Emei Resort features 10 event venues, including a ballroom, a boardroom and four private rooms.
Anantara Emei Resort & Spa becomes the third Anantara resort in China, joining the Anantara Xishuangbanna Resort & Spa in Yunnan province and Anantara Sanya Resort & Spa on Hainan Island. The Thai hotelier is now planning to expand its Chinese portfolio with the addition of new resorts in Guizhou, Zhejiang, Guangdong and Hainan provinces, plus a new property in Shanghai.
