Thailand’s Minor Hotel Group has revealed the latest stage of its expansion in Southeast Asia – the development of a brand new Anantara resort in Bali’s cultural capital, Ubud.
Minor has formed a 50-50 joint venture with Indonesia’s PT Wijaya Karya Realty for the US$41.4 million project, which is scheduled to launch in 2019.
Upon opening, Anantara Ubud Bali Resort will offer a total of 70 keys including suites and pool villas, along with several restaurants, a bar and pool lounge, meeting facilities, a gym and a spa. In addition, the development will feature 30 Anantara-branded residences.
“We are thrilled to be announcing our third Anantara resort in Bali,” said Dillip Rajakarier, CEO of Minor Hotel Group. “We are confident in the longevity of the island as a hugely popular tourism destination and the addition of Anantara Ubud will perfectly complement our existing resorts.”
Minor currently operates two Anantara resorts in Bali – Anantara Seminyak and Anantara Uluwatu – as well as an Anantara Vacation Club property. And the company will continue to expand on the island in future, with the debut of its Avani and Oaks brands.
