Andhra Pradesh is looking to attract Bengali’s to explore various destinations in the state.
The state tourism is set to appoint 25 travel agents solely dedicated to West Bengal and announce special tour packages.
“West Bengal is a market with tremendous opportunity and we want to tap into this to maximize tourism in our state. The proximity to AP and the multiple options of modes of travel make it an easy holiday option for people from this state,” Chandana Khan, Special Chief Secretary to Andhra Pradesh Government was quoted by the Economic Times.
“We are looking at expanding and building this market. We want to showcase to our guests that everything is possible in Andhra Pradesh. Today, the state has much more to offer in terms of virgin locations. We are keen to promote Andhra Pradesh as the most desirable round-the-year tourist destination in India,” Khan added.
In the coming months, the state will witness investments of over INR1,000 crore through the Public Private Partnership mode in tourism sector.
