Banyan Tree has unveiled plans to launch a new Angsana property close to the home of the UNESCO-listed Terracotta Warriors, in northern China’s Shaanxi province.
The new Angsana Xi’an Lintong is scheduled to open in October 2014, just 15 minutes from the site of the Terracotta Warriors and 40 minutes from Xi’an Xianyang International Airport.
Designed to resemble a Tang Dynasty court, the resort features a collection of low-rise buildings surrounded by gardens, lakes, courtyards and pavilions.
There are 403 rooms, including a range of one-, two- and three-bedroom suites, plus an Angsana Spa which features 25 natural outdoor hot springs. Other facilities include seven restaurants and bars, a kids’ club, swimming pool, gym and yoga studio, and for the corporate market the Angsana offers meeting facilities for up to 800 delegates.
The new resort will become Angsana’s fourth in China, following existing properties in Hangzhou, the capital of Zhejiang province, and Tengchong and Fuxian Lake, both of which lie in Yunnan province.
