Linda Haydon has been appointed manager responsible for group tourism at the European Tour Operators Association (ETOA). Haydon previously spent five years as director of product development for Trafalgar Tours and eight years at Insight Vacations.
Vicky Berry has joined the Business Travel Show as hosted buyer co-ordinator. Berry has also been joined on the BTS team by new sales manager Tori Al-Shaikhly and sales executive Norbert Owusu Asenso.
Linda Moore has been appointed chairman of the Hotel Marketing Association (HMA). Moore, a former PR director for Hilton and Marriott, is joined by Ed Purnell, area director of marketing for InterContinental Hotels in London as vice chairman, with new members including Caroline Calvert from Red Carnation Hotels; Mark Halliday of Millennium Hotels; former Hilton employee Carole Luck and Martin Evans of the Tourism Business.
Trudy Rautio, president and CEO of Carlson, has been named as the chairman of Carlson Wagonlit Travel’s board of directors. Rautio has been on the board since 2006 and succeeds Hubert Joly, who resigned a month ago.
Karen Merrick has been appointed general manager for Centara Ras Fushi Resort & Spa Maldives. Scottish national Merrick was previously general manager of The Taaras Beach & Spa Resort, Redang Island, Malaysia.
Diane Yost has joined the Viceroy Anguilla as its director of sales and marketing. Yost previously worked at Mandarin Oriental Las Vegas and has more than 20 years’ hospitality experience including stints at Four Seasons and Ritz-Carlton hotels.
