STEFFEN HARBARTH has been named as Lufthansa’s new Vice President for Asia Pacific, based in Singapore. Harbarth began his career at Lufthansa in 1996 and most recently held the position of Head of Hub Development & Capacity Management.

KARIM MAKHLOUF has been named as the new Chief Commercial Officer of Gulf Air. Makhlouf has a 14-year career, starting at Lufthansa and moving to SkyEurope and Malev. He joined Gulf Air in October 2010 as Director of Commercial Planning.

TAN BOON KHAI has been appointed Regional General Manager – Singapore & Malaysia for The Ascott Limited. Tan, who has 13 years’ experience, was previously Senior Vice President for Ascott’s parent company, CapitaLand.

ANDREW CHAN has been officially inaugurated as the new President of Skal International Singapore. Chan is currently the Chief Executive Officer of Singapore-based travel and hospitality recruitment company, TMS Asia-Pacific.

LAURENCE LOGAN LECHUMANAN has been appointed as the Malaysia Tourism Promotion Board’s new Deputy Director for UK & Ireland. Lechumanan has been with Tourism Malaysia for more than 10 years serving three different divisions.

KENNETH LAW has been announced as Banyan Tree’s new Country Head for Hong Kong. Law assumes the role following his previous stint as the company’s Assistant Vice President of Field Performance Support. He will move to Hong Kong from Singapore.

JOANA YAP has been announced as the new Head of Service Quality for the Asia Partner Network, for the Hogg Robinson Group (HRG). Ms Yap joined HRG in 2007 as the Head of Client Services, prior to which she worked for The Esplanade Company.

IAN MACDONALD has been appointed General Manager of the Centara Grand Beach Resort & Spa Boracay, Philippines. A British national, MacDonald joins from Centara Villas Samui where he served as General Manager for the past two years.

KANCHAN KANWAR has been named as the new General Manager at the Holiday Inn Singapore Orchard City Centre. Ms Kanwar joins the hotel from the InterContinental Singapore, where she held the position of Hotel Manager for the past four years.

NICHOLAS RESCHKE has been appointed Director of Sales & Marketing at the new Courtyard by Marriott Bali. Reschke, a German national, arrives from Thailand where he was responsible for MICE at the four Courtyard by Marriott resorts in the country.

CHARLIE LIN has been named as the first W Insider at the W Taipei. The concierge-style role intends to offer guests an ‘insider’s’ view of the Taiwanese capital. Ms Lin was Taiwan’s Goodwill Ambassador to last year’s World Expo in Shanghai.

JOHN PANG has been named as the Concorde Hotel Singapore’s new Executive Assistant Manager. Pang has more than 16 years’ hotel experience, and joined the Concorde in January 2009 as Director of Food & Beverage.
