CHRISTOPHER RYND has been appointed Commodore of the Cunard Line fleet, comprising Queen Mary 2, Queen Elizabeth and Queen Victoria. A New Zealand national, Rynd has served as a captain for P&O Cruises Australia and Princess Cruises.
GIOVANNI ANGELINI has been named as the new Vice Chairman of Dusit Overseas, based in Hong Kong. Angelini, who previously spend 16 years with Shangri-La Hotels & Resorts, will now spearhead the Thai hotel company’s Greater China expansion.
MARTIN JAMES MURRAY has been named as the person to replace James Edward Hughes-Hallett has Finance Director of Cathay Pacific Airways. Hughes-Hallett will step down in November. Murray is currently Deputy Finance Director of Swire Pacific Ltd.
PHILIP HALL has been appointed Group Director of Sales & Marketing for Centara Hotels & Resorts. A British national, Hall joins the hotel group from Anantara, where he held the position of Director of International Sales at Anantara Hotels & Resorts.
SAMIR BAIDAS has been promoted to the role of Senior Vice President of Development for the Middle East with Marriott International. Based in Dubai, Baidas moves up from his previous position as Vice President of Development – Middle East.
SVEN ISBERG has been announced as the pre-opening General Manager of the The Langham Shenzhen, China, which is due to open in 2012. A German national, Isberg has almost 30 years’ experience including seven years as a General Manager in China.
FRANCK NALLEAU has been named as the pre-opening General Manager of the Langham Place EDZ in Guangzhou. A French national, Naulleau has 20 years’ hospitality management experience in Asia, including properties in Indonesia and Vietnam.
FENIA FELICIA has been announced as the W Retreat & Spa Bali Seminyak’s new Director of Entertainment. Ms Felicia will lead the resort’s event management side, having arrived from Anantara Seminyak, she directed the hotel bar’s entertainment.
JEREMY TORRET has been named as the new Executive Sous Chef and V9 Wine and Dining Chef at the Sofitel Bangkok Silom. A French national, Chef Jeremy is just 29 years-old, but has gained experience in several Michelin-starred restaurants.
FELIPE GOMEZ has joined COMO Hotels & Resorts as the luxury hotel company’s new Sales Manager for Europe, based in London. Gomez, who officially joins on 16 May from Mason Rose. He also previously worked for Ananda Spa in the Himalayas.
