Arrivals to Sri Lanka show 32% growth last month

Arrivals to Sri Lanka for the month of January 2014 show a very healthy year-on-year growth of 32.6% with
146,575 visitors for the month.
Western Europe continues to be the biggest source of tourists to the island country, far outweighing all other regions, with 46,301 visitors. The next closest countries were South Asia (28,392), East Asia (25,823) and Eastern Europe (24,837).
Among the individual countries, India produced the largest number of tourists to Sri Lanka for the month (17,886) followed by UK (12,896), China (10,779) and Russia (10,700).
