The Lucky Dragon Hotel & Casino will open in Las Vegas in late 2016, becoming the first ground-up casino development to launch in the city for six years.
The resort is being specifically targeted at the Asian market, with signage in Chinese and English, multilingual staff and a wealth of Asian F&B offerings, including the city’s only tea garden.
When designing the hotel, developers consulted a Feng Shui master. As a result, the traditionally unlucky number four will be absent from the hotel, including room, floor and telephone numbers.
Located on the Las Vegas Strip, the hotel will feature 204 rooms and suites, plus a casino with an emphasis on table games, a dim sum restaurant and a main restaurant that aims to “emulate the vibrant street food markets of Asia”.
The indoor-outdoor tea garden and lounge area will feature a waterfall, trees and a custom-built Gongfu tables that allow customers to experience a traditional Chinese tea ceremony. There will also be a large spa with a focus on reflexology and Chinese herbal treatments.
Hainan Airlines will launch the first direct scheduled flights between mainland China and Las Vegas next month, and Genting Hong Kong is also developing Chinese-themed integrated resort, Resorts World Las Vegas, which expected to open in 2019.
