Qatar Airways has announced three new routes as part of its international expansion. The airline will commence non-stop flights from Doha to Uganda (Entebbe) on 2 November and services to Baku, Azerbaijan and onto Tbilisi, Georgia on 30 November. Akbar Al Baker, CEO of Qatar Airways said the new route launches provided flights for underserved markets. In addition, he revealed that the airline will launch a new service and increase frequency to Saudi Arabia by 71% later this year. Doha-Medina flights are to be launched on 14 July (four times a week) and capacity will be increased on its Riyadh and Jeddah services. “The extra flights to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia are a welcome boost to our schedules, for our passengers and also towards our commitment to the market,” said Al Baker. “Saudi Arabia is the largest of the GCC countries and a natural market for Qatar Airways to step up its presence.”
