The Adventure Tour Operators Association of India’s (ATOAI) annual convention in Guwahati will focus on the promotion of North-East India.

Propagating the theme, ‘India’s Unexplored Paradise’, ATOAI seeks to use the convention as a meaningful platform to harness all available resources in order to showcase and promote the North-East as an unveiled adventure tourism destination,” said the association’s official press release. The convention has been planned to be in conjunction with the Ministry of Tourism’s proposed North-East International Travel Mart from January 18-20, 2013.

“The convention’s primary focus will be to promote the North-Eastern states of India as potential adventure tourism destinations in order to gain rapid momentum. The aim is to create a platform for the adventure fraternity for new networking opportunities and to provide an environment for learning workshops. The convention will also provide knowledge exchange and brain storming sessions for the delegates to enhance efficiency levels and provide enhanced infrastructure for the adventure tourism industry,” said Tejbir Anand Singh, President of ATOAI.

Sanjay Basu, Convention Chairman, added “North-East India is an outstanding adventure destination, which is endowed with ages of Old River Brahmaputra, a natural habitat of wild life and rich bounty of minerals. Our objective is to showcase peaks, rivers, flood plains,dense forests rich in wildlife, and beautiful valleys. North-East India is a land of jungles, rivers, mountains and remote tribal cultures, making it a great adventure destination offering many active holiday concepts.”
