Atout France recently held its first B2B trade event – Marhaba – for the Middle East and Turkey region in Dubai. The two-day invite-only event was held at the Sofitel Downtown Dubai and offered participants a platform for networking with 50 French suppliers. The event also witnessed participation from over 100 travel operators from across 10 countries – Oman, UAE, KSA, Qatar, Bahrain, Kuwait, Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon and Turkey.
Atout France in Dubai is totally focused on supporting regional travel operators. Karim Mekachera, regional director for Atout France said: “The Middle East continues to represent a key market for inbound tourism to France with nearly 20% increase in visitor numbers in 2013. Potential is immense, but what is important is to keep pace with growing and changing needs of travellers from MENA.”
The partner exhibitor list included Paris, Rhone-Alps summer and winter sport resorts, major resorts of the French Riviera from Cannes to Monaco, hotels and incoming operators.
