Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group has announced plans to launch its new Park Inn by Radisson hotel concept in Fiji.

The company has signed a management contract for the Park Inn by Radisson Fiji Suva, a new-build property that is scheduled to open in the second quarter of 2018.

The hotel will become the first “NexGen” Park Inn in Australasia – Carlson Rezidor’s new midscale concept that is designed to offer “choice, connectivity and community” in key city centre locations, or close to major transport hubs.

“We are excited to… expand Carlson Rezidor’s presence in Australasia, beginning with Fiji’s capital of Suva, the hub for regional businesses operating in the Pacific Islands,” said Thorsten Kirschke, Carlson Rezidor’s president of Asia Pacific.

“Park Inn by Radisson Fiji Suva underscores our renewed commitment to Australasia, which is a key sub-region for Carlson Rezidor in Asia Pacific. To optimise the potential of Australasia as an engine of growth, our dedicated Australasia development team is rolling out plans to introduce new brands to the market.”

Park Inn by Radisson Fiji Suva will offer 130 rooms in the centre of Fiji’s capital city, close to the city’s main bus terminal. Facilities will include a restaurant, lounge, fitness centre, meeting rooms and a ballroom.

It will become the second Carlson Rezidor hotel in Fiji, following the Radisson Blu Resort Fiji Denarau Island. And the company is planning to bring more NexGen Park Inns to Asia Pacific in the coming years, with 13 new properties currently under development across the region.
