The AWTE has kicked off this year’s ITT conference with the first official drinks evening of the event, treating AWTE members and female ITT delegates to sunset cocktails in the lobby terrace at the Hilton Tel Aviv.
Sponsored by Pinpoint Communications and Pinpoint Britain’s Tricia Handley Hughes (long-term supporter and former Chair of the AWTE), the event was a great success with Hughes welcoming guests with a glass of fizz.
Hughes said, “I am delighted to support this event and feel proud that during my tenure as a previous Chair, I am witness to my legacy of the Sunset Cocktails. Back then it was a time of change and the association has been evolving since then. Today, in my opinion, it’s about comradery, and collaboration. This is an important element with the ongoing promotion of women into senior roles in our industry. With the average female NED serving an average of five years, we need to continue to nurture and develop the pipeline of new talent.”
The highlight of the evening was AWTE chair Debbee Dale’s update on events later this year where she announced a new competition for the AWTE Christmas lunch. Whilst Christmas was far from guests’ minds, Dale revealed that a mystery celebrity will host the Christmas songs at the December lunch. Members will have the chance to guess the celebrity as part of a competition. Five entrants who guessed correctly will be announced at the AWTE networking event on June 21st at Tiger Tiger in London.
